A strong foundation: Dr. Francois' academic and professional background

Dr. Francois boasts an impressive academic and professional journey. She completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University before attending the University of Rochester for medical training and residency. After a year on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Francois discovered a calling in vein care and pursued CVR’s Fellowship program, which is the only fellowship program in the United States granted by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine(ABVLM).

We spoke to Dr. Francois about her education, career, and what inspired her to choose vein care as her specialty.

Why did you choose vein care as your specialty?

Dr. Francois: “I found many patients who came to the emergency room who suffered from vein disease. It was nice to be able to do something to help them. I have always been interested in vein procedures, including ultrasound. So, choosing vein care as my focus allowed me to do all those things and connect with patients on a more personal level.”

“My patients have my number, and they're always able to reach out to me— that's something I really value. I believe in a patient-centered approach, where I strive to understand each patient's unique needs and provide the best possible care.” - Dr. Czestochowa Francois

What is your philosophy of patient care?

Dr. Francois: “In today's society, many patients feel swept up in a system that doesn't care enough about them. My philosophy when I see a patient is to make sure that when I see them, they understand that they have my undivided attention and that I provide them with the care that I would my own father and mother, my sister.”

“I want patients to feel that they've had an impact on my life and that I want to impact theirs positively. That’s my philosophy regarding healthcare: I treasure my patients.” - Dr. Czestochowa Francois

What is the most important thing you want patients to know about you?

Dr. Francois: “I recognize the complexity of the healthcare system and am passionate about educating my patients in a way that fosters autonomy and ownership over their health. By taking the time to listen, explain, and teach, I aim to make a meaningful impact on each patient's journey, providing a valuable experience that extends beyond the clinic visit.”

“I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where my patients feel heard and empowered. When they enter my CVR vein clinic, they can expect to receive personalized attention and guidance, addressing not only their medical concerns but also their emotional and educational needs. -Dr. Czestochowa Francois
