Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 reveals intense preview pages in anticipation of the epic finale of 30th anniversary event. Boom! Studios has revealed that the upcoming one-shot will conclude both the Darkest Hour event and the eight year long comic series.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers started the Darkest Hour as part of the 30th anniversary celebration. In similar fashion to the Shattered Grid, BOOM! Studios has inducted the entire Morphin Grid once more as Dark Spector corrupts as many Rangers as possible within his reach. The last release was revealed to conclude the entire comic series, with Power Rangers Infinity #1 to fill the gap as the latest one-shot. Melissa Flores will feature the finale one-shot to end the story after Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122.
The graphic novel will feature as the last instalment of the 12 month event and the series that began in 2016. The previews include a magnitude of characters, including a clash between Hyperforce characters, Lord Zedd vs. Master Vile, and even a swarm of corrupted Rangers. The last release will feature at the end of July, with Boom! Studios to reveal big news at San Diego Comic Con 2024.
Darkest Hour Finale Preview Revealed

It all ends here! With the Morphin Grid in peril, the people of Earth are left without the Power Rangers to protect them. The ultimate battle against Dark Specter will play out with unexpected consequences, while an unlikely group of rogues, villains, and Rangers make strange company… But even if they win… can they rebuild everything they’ve lost?
This epic, oversized issue will feature a main cover by the iconic Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), and variant covers by highly acclaimed artists Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Santa Fung (House of Slaughter), Trevor Hairsine (DCeased) with Jordan Boyd, and a limited BOOM! There is such a devastating assortment of corrupted Rangers that Dark Specter has amassed over time. This feels a lot more potent than the Ranger Sentry army in the finale of Shattered Grid, as these characters could truly cause a devastating fight soon to debut. It’s also great to see Ranger Zedd join the fight as he faces Master Vile’s ship but the best preview involves the Hyperforce story. Finally, fans will be able to see a huge fight take place between Hyperforce Pink and her father. It will be exciting to see if this becomes the conclusion of the TTRPG series, especially since Melissa Flores has brought back the Pink Battle Warrior mode once more.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 will be available in comic shops July 31st, 2024. It is available for preorder at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
Ahead of this milestone issue, fans can pick up the final issue of the main series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122, a week earlier on July 24th, 2024. Additionally, fans can look forward to many exciting POWER RANGERS announcements from BOOM! Studios in the coming months, including exciting plans for San Diego Comic-Con.
